Rebecca lives in Boulder, Colorado, with her husband, two kids, two cats, and a dog, plus her son's fish and lizard. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Evansville in 1997 and a Master of Arts in English Literature from Boston College in 1999. She taught writing and literature courses at Davenport University in South Bend, Indiana, until 2004. She also worked at the South Bend Tribune for the Newspapers In Education (NIE) program. While there, she wrote The Mystery at the Factory, a fictional story for young readers, which was published in the newspaper in serial form. The Mystery at the Factory was awarded the Merle D. Blue Award for Excellence in the Humanities. Rebecca quit teaching to stay home with her children and then began writing when her children went to school.
