“When I arrived in Troas to proclaim the Message of the Messiah, I found the place wide open: God had opened the door; all I had to do was walk through it.” --2 Corinthians 2:12 (The Message)
Lexi and I walk past many closed doors. We don’t expect them to open. We would be startled if they did. We are startled when it happens. If a neighbor opens his door just as Lexi and I are passing, Lexi jumps, ears back. We walk past many closed doors when we walk with God. Some doors are closed against temptation and sin. Other doors may open for someone else but not for us. We get used to closed doors. In fact, we don’t expect doors to open. We would be disconcerted if they did. Maybe we are disconcerted when it happens. When God opens a door as we’re walking in faith, we might draw back. But when God opens a door, he wants us to walk through it. He opens the door for us so we can walk with him.
Dear God, Bless me to walk through the doors you open for me. Amen
