“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.” –Psalm 128:1
Sometimes it’s not clear whether I’m walking Lexi or she’s walking me. It’s hard to tell who’s leading and who’s following. I’m supposed to be the leader. Lexi is supposed to follow me. She has her own ideas, though. Christians walk with God, and he walks with us. Yet Christ is supposed to be the leader. We’re supposed to follow him. We have our own ideas, though. It’s hard to tell sometimes who’s leading the way. We expect God to walk with us wherever we want to go. He will, in fact. He’ll follow us. God won’t leave our side, just as I won’t let go of Lexi’s leash. But that’s not the way we receive God’s blessings. Lexi gets rewarded when she obeys me. We are blessed when we obey the Lord.
Dear God, Teach me to let you be the leader. Amen
