“Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.” –Deuteronomy 8:6
We learned from our dog trainer not to give in when a dog begs for a walk. The trainer said, “Set a regular routine, and stay firm.” The dog walks when the human says it’s time. We don’t have to drop everything when Lexi comes to us with her leash in her mouth. God, of course, will always walk with us when we ask. However, he does set a regular routine, and he stays firm. He commands us to walk when he says it’s time—and it’s always time to walk with God.
Dear God, Teach me to walk with you when you say it’s time. Amen
