“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?...[Y]our right hand will hold me fast.” –Psalm 139:7&10
Sometimes Lexi forgets that I’m holding the end of her leash. Then my toe catches a rock, and Lexi jumps because I’ve startled her. She was so intent on her own pursuits that she didn’t remember me. Sometimes we don’t remember God. We’re intent on our own pursuits. We forget that he’s holding us fast. Then he whispers in our ear and startles us. Maybe we recoil. Maybe we flinch. Maybe we jump for joy. Like it or not, God is with us. Even when we ignore him or neglect him, God never forsakes us nor lets us go.
Dear God, Teach me to remember that you never let me go. Amen
