Walking for Peace

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”  –2 Thessalonians 3:16

Most days I walk Lexi to burn off her energy, but sometimes I walk her to burn off mine. For example, I had a job interview one morning. I was excited about the job and felt elated after the interview, which went very well. I got home around 10:30, a little earlier than Lexi usually gets her midday walk. I was too giddy to work, so I took Lexi for her walk right away. It helped me calm down. Walking with God helps us calm down, too. In fact, only God can give us true peace, peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7). Some days I feel as restless, agitated, and fidgety as Lexi gets when it nears walk time. Like Lexi, I feel calmer after a walk. We feel at peace when we walk with God.

Dear God, Grant me peace when I walk with you. Amen
