“I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers.” –2 Corinthians 11:26
Lexi is protective. I believe she would defend me if I was accosted. My mom says she’s glad I have Lexi to walk with me so I don’t have to walk alone. Of course I wouldn’t be taking walks three times a day if the dog didn’t need exercise. There’s a similar irony in Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians. He impresses them with all the dangers he’s faced, but of course he wouldn’t have faced any of those dangers if he wasn’t spreading the gospel. I take a risk when I walk Lexi (though it’s a very safe, well-lit, busy neighborhood). We take a risk when we walk in faith. Ironically, God will protect us if we walk with him (Psalm 91:14).
Dear God, Help me trust to your protection so that I can risk walking in faith. Amen
