Off the Beaten Track

“Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.” --Isaiah 40:4

Lexi and I don’t keep to city sidewalks and paved paths on our daily walk. Our walks take us across the park, down by the creek, and among the trees that divide the nearby office complex from the local highway. We are always exploring off the beaten (or cemented) track. The going is harder, but it’s always an adventure. Sometimes God calls us off the beaten track when we walk in faith. The going is harder than following the way that’s already been trampled smooth by those who’ve gone before us. Maybe it seems too difficult to hack a new path through the wilderness. But God will make the way passable for us, if it’s truly the way he’s called us to go. Walking in faith can be an adventure.

Dear God, Make the way passable for me when you lead me off the beaten track on my faith walk. Amen
